Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the purchase of French language classes offered on this website (the "Site") by Frenchola, operated by Pradeep Xavier as a sole proprietorship based in Bommayarpalayam, Tamil Nadu, India ("Frenchola", "we", "us", "our"). By booking a class or making a payment through the Site, you ("Student", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services

Frenchola provides live, instructor-led French language classes delivered online through video-conferencing (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet), as Online Individual Classes: one-on-one live sessions booked per hour or as part of a pre-paid multi-hour pack.

Current pricing is described on the Pricing section of the Site and may be updated from time to time.

3. Eligibility

Our services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must register and pay on your behalf and is responsible for your participation.

4. Registration and Enrolment

Classes are booked through the scheduling link or form provided on the Site. A booked class or pre-paid pack is confirmed only once the required payment has been received and you have received a confirmation by e-mail. Frenchola reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking before it is confirmed.

5. Course Schedule

Class dates and timings are those shown on the Site at the time of enrolment, or as otherwise agreed directly with the Student. Frenchola will give reasonable notice of any change to a confirmed schedule.

6. Student Responsibility

The Student is responsible for:

  • having a suitable internet connection and device for online classes;
  • attending classes punctually and participating in them;
  • completing the activities and practice needed to progress, outside of class time.

7. Educational Results

Frenchola teaches on a reasonable-skill-and-care basis but does not guarantee that a Student will reach a specific CEFR level (e.g. A1) by a given date, pass the DELF or any other exam, achieve fluency, or obtain a particular professional outcome. Progress depends on factors including regular attendance, personal practice between classes, and the Student's starting level.

8. Intellectual Property

All course materials, lesson plans, worksheets, recordings and related content provided as part of a class remain the property of Frenchola. They are provided for the Student's personal, non-commercial use only and may not be copied, redistributed, resold, or published without Frenchola's prior written permission.

9. Payments

  • All prices are listed in Indian Rupees (₹) and represent the full price of the class or pack as shown on the Site at the time of purchase.
  • Frenchola is currently not registered under GST and does not charge GST on its course fees.
  • Online Individual Classes may be paid per session or in advance as a multi-hour pack. Pre-paid hours are personal to the Student and are non-transferable unless agreed in writing.
  • Where an online payment gateway is used, payments are processed by that third-party provider; Frenchola does not store your card or payment credentials.

10. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation and refund terms are set out separately in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Student Conduct

You agree to treat the teacher and other students with respect, and not to record, redistribute, or publicly share class sessions or teaching materials without prior written consent. Frenchola may decline to continue providing services to a Student whose conduct is abusive or disruptive, subject to the terms of our Refund and Cancellation Policy for any unused, paid sessions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Indian law, Frenchola's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific class giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Indian law.

13. Force Majeure

Frenchola shall not be liable for any delay or failure to deliver a class caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including internet or power outages, illness, or other unforeseeable circumstances. Affected sessions will be rescheduled where reasonably possible.

14. Grievance Redressal

Complaints or grievances relating to a purchase made on this Site can be raised with our Grievance Officer:

We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours of receipt and aim to resolve it within one month from the date of receipt.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the consumer's right to approach the consumer forum having jurisdiction over their place of residence under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over Bommayarpalayam, Tamil Nadu, India.

16. Changes

We may update our services, pricing, or these Terms when reasonably necessary, for example to reflect changes in how we deliver our courses or in applicable law. Where a change materially affects a Student already enrolled, we will let them know. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
